Tokidoki Overview, Round-Up, & Swatch Recap

tokidoki overview
Overall Thoughts on the Tokidoki Line:
First off, I have to say that I really love the packaging of the entire line. Every product offers fun colors and whimsical characters -allowing you to celebrate your inner "child" while being able to still look the part of a sophisticated, mature adult (LOL.. I still feel like I'm 6 years old some times.) For me, the standout products were the liners -both the Perfetto Liquid Eyeliner and the Brillante Glitter Eyeliner Pencil. It is so difficult for me to find brightly colored liquid liners that don't contain a truckload of glitter and actually work well. I'm extremely pleased with the variety of colors and hope for more to be added. The Brillante Glitter liners were also nice. The colors were very pretty and came in a huge array of colors. As for the eyeshadows, they were not what I hoped for them to be. The palettes are fairly low priced at only $25 (the other palettes in Sephora usually cost much more) and the singles have creative skull shaped packaging but I did not like the formulas whatsoever. Some swatched nicely but as a whole, they weren't all that great at all when compared to Urban Decay, NARS, or man other brands offered at Sephora. I was also disappointed in the glosses. They smelled nice and didn't feel to sticky but they all looked so similar swatched -I could only imagine that they'd all apply clear on the lips. I thought the lipstains were promising and would please many "nude lip" fans. The bronzers and highlighter were decent as well -but I didn't find them to be extraordinary. If anyone's wondering, Tokidoki is here to stay and is a collaboration with Sephora -like Kat Von D and Tarina Tarantino.

Fun Fact:
This is random but did you know that the Simone Legno, the artist who created Tokidoki, is actually from Italy?! When I was in Italy, I don't remember see ing Tokidoki anywhere. I did purchase a ton of makeup though and need to post about it soon (I've been meaning to for months!)

*I created the collage at the top on Polyvore!! =)

  2. AHHH! That's totally unfair. Yupp I learned that the artist is actually Italian while in Sephora a few weeks back. I was wondering.. do you think they'll bring Tokidoki to the Sephora in Italy? That would definitely be great. Your Sephora has brands we don't have here in the U.S. though like Collistar (they don't have it in our Sephora anymore) and you also have Kiko Cosmetics. Seriously, I'd LOVE a Kiko here -I was in Italy a few months back and did a major haul. You also have a bunch of AMAZING clothing stores I wish we had. =(

Hope you can find some Tokidoki products. Maybe if you have a friend in the U.S. they can send some over? And maybe if Sephora ships internationally (I'm really not sure..)
